Want the 411? Well, here it is. Just remember, you asked for it.
I'm a thirty-something psychology and history graduate. My three loves are horses, people, and books--but not necessarily in that order (although it's entirely possible they are). I grew up in a fairly small town in Southern Utah. I love the variety of scenery found all across the state, but especially down south. Red and white mountains, Arches National Park, Zion National Park, going from desert to wooded mountains over the course of a few minutes . . . . Everything is so beautiful. But my home away from home is up in the northern-most parts of Utah. It's in the cold-winter, green-summer, gorgeous Cache Valley (like the cheese). When I'm there I spend a lot of time sitting out on the balcony, notebook in hand, and write to the sounds of the creek running past and birds chattering in the trees.
My family is both super complicated and not complicated at all. For all intents and purposes, I have an older sister who's grown up to be a crazy cat lady (in the best possible way), an older brother I haven't seen in years (not by choice; he lives in a different country), and a younger brother who drives me through the roof and back--but I love him anyway. My dad is 100% Danish, through and through--although he actually has some Swedish in him, too; just don't bring it up. My mom passed away from cancer when I was in high school.
Career-wise I've gone from wanting to teach high school English to wanting to teach history, to not wanting to teach at all, and back to wanting to teach. During my detour I decided I wanted to do something in the mental health field--specifically school counseling. These days I'm working on a Masters in Professional School Counseling. My plans for the future are always changing, but I have one constant: writing.
Currently
Reading: Tips for Magicians by Celesta Remmington
Writing: Mask of Hades (or Styx and Fire, or Reign of Masks, or Rain of Asphodel... I haven't actually picked a title yet)
Watching: Alias
Listening to: The sound of silence, occasionally broken by VoicePlay.
Hot Seat Questions
If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be? I'd do a tour of Western Europe, focusing on the U.K. and Scandinavia
Which historical figure would you want to meet the most? US--Abigail Adams; World--Elizabeth I, Clementine Churchill
Chocolate or vanilla? If it's a Frosty, chocolate with fries and chicken nuggets, otherwise swirled.
Peanut butter or caramel? Caramel
